guada1Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel
Nuvali, Sta Rosa, Laguna

The Chapel of our Lady of Guadalupe in Montecito, Nuvali, was completed in December 2012.  The Chapel architecture was done by LV Locsin & Partners and interior architecture by Asian Architects.  The retablo is finished in a combination of travertine and onyx with highlights gilded.  All the elements that make up the retablo and furnishing were locally made, including the painting, tabernacle, candelabras and vigil lamps.

The chapel is located at the basement and natural lighting was achieved by glass blocks for a part of the plaza floor above it.  Side lights also of glass blocks supplement the very limited natural lighting to unify the design.

The Chapel, part of the Development Communications Building of the University, was completed in 1992. It has a Blessed Sacrament Chapel on the right side of the nave and a wing of confessionals on the left which draws many chapel goers due to the constant presence of the chaplains during school and office hours. The retablo designed  in the plateresque style with estepite columns was executed by Albert Paloma and is done in batikuling wood.  The image of our Lady, Stella Orientis (Star of the East), was locally made by Relobin.
